Fill in your details and get a complete document as a real PDF, with HSN codes, place of supply, the correct tax split and amount in words. No GSTIN? It becomes a Bill of Supply instead, which is what an unregistered seller should issue. Everything runs in your browser.

A tax invoice is not just a bill with GST added. The rules set out what has to appear on it, and an invoice missing those fields can be challenged, which matters most when your customer tries to claim input credit against it and cannot. If you are not GST registered you should not be issuing one at all, and this tool will hand you a Bill of Supply instead.
| Required | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| HSN or SAC per line | Identifies what was sold and the rate that applies to it. |
| Place of supply | Decides whether the tax is CGST plus SGST or IGST. |
| Buyer GSTIN, for B2B | Without it your customer cannot claim input credit. |
| Unique invoice number | Must run in an unbroken series across the financial year. |
| Tax shown separately | A single total with tax buried inside is not a tax invoice. |
| Amount in words | Standard practice, and it prevents figures being altered. |
| Signature or a note | Either signed, or marked as computer generated. |
| If you are | You issue | Tax shown |
|---|---|---|
| GST registered, regular | Tax invoice | Yes, split as CGST and SGST or IGST |
| GST registered, composition | Bill of Supply | No, plus a required declaration |
| Not registered | Bill of Supply | No tax may be collected |
Leave your GSTIN blank and the tool switches automatically, so nobody accidentally issues a tax invoice they are not entitled to issue.
The last character of a GSTIN is calculated from the other fourteen, so a single mistyped letter anywhere in the number makes it fail. This tool works out what that character should be and tells you, which usually points straight at the typo.
It is worth catching. An invoice carrying a wrong GSTIN is a problem for whoever tries to claim credit against it, and that conversation always happens months later.
Your name, address and GSTIN, the customer name and address, a unique invoice number and date, the place of supply, a description of each item with its HSN or SAC code, quantity and rate, the taxable value, the tax split as either CGST plus SGST or IGST, the total, and a signature or a note that it is computer generated. This tool includes all of them.
It depends on your state versus the place of supply. Same state and the tax splits into CGST and SGST. Different state and the whole amount is IGST. This tool reads both state codes from the GSTINs and decides for you, rather than leaving it to a checkbox that is easy to forget.
Yes, for goods. HSN for products, SAC for services. How many digits you need depends on your turnover, but leaving it blank makes the invoice incomplete. If you do not know yours, search your product category for its HSN code before you bill.
Apna naam, pata aur GSTIN bharo, phir customer ki detail. Har item ke saath HSN code, quantity aur rate daalo. Jahan maal ja raha hai wo state chuno, aur tool khud tay kar lega ki CGST plus SGST lagega ya IGST. Phir PDF download kar lo.
No. Everything happens inside your browser and the PDF is built on your own machine. Your customer details never reach a server. Close the tab and nothing remains.
The last character of a GSTIN is a check digit calculated from the other fourteen. If it does not match, there is a typo somewhere. We work out what the last character should be and tell you, which usually makes the mistake obvious.
Yes. Leave your GSTIN blank and the tool switches to a Bill of Supply, which is what an unregistered seller is supposed to issue. No tax is shown, because you may not collect it. Everything else, the items, totals and amount in words, works the same way.
A tax invoice is issued by a GST registered seller and shows the tax separately, so the buyer can claim input credit. A bill of supply is issued when no tax is charged, either because the seller is not registered or is under composition scheme, and it must not show tax at all. Issuing the wrong one is a compliance problem, so this tool picks for you based on whether you entered a GSTIN.
You issue a bill of supply rather than a tax invoice, and it must carry the wording that you are a composition taxable person not eligible to collect tax on supplies. Tick the composition box and that declaration is printed on the document automatically.
Meesho already generates a tax invoice for each marketplace order, printed below the shipping label. This tool is for everything else: direct WhatsApp orders, wholesale, your own website, or a B2B customer who needs a proper invoice with their GSTIN on it.
Upload it and Uncle shows which of the products you are packing right now actually lost money last month, with returns, ads and every fee on its own line.
