Shipping is billed on chargeable weight, which is the higher of what your parcel weighs and what its size implies. Enter your box to find out which slab you land in, how much you are paying for empty space, and exactly what to trim to drop a slab.

Measure the packed box, not the bare product.
You are billed on the higher of the two weights. Here that is the volumetric one.
The parcel weighs 420 g but bills as 1.50 kg because of its size. You are paying for 1.08 kg of air, about ₹8,100/month at 300 orders.
Get chargeable weight to 1.25 kg or under, which is 250 g to shave. Since size is what is binding, a box around 25 x 25 x 8 cm would do it.
₹2,100 / month · ₹25,200 / year
Beyond 3.00 kg: plus ₹13 per extra 500 g.
Rates are Meesho's published slab ladder and shift over time. Open the rate card to paste your own, and always confirm against your supplier panel before pricing a product.
Your parcel on the scale, and its volumetric weight from length times width times height, divided by the divisor.
That is your chargeable weight. Pack a 400 gram kurti in a big carton and you may be billed for 1.5 kg.
Bands step in 250 gram jumps. 505 grams costs the same as 750, so the grams just past a cut-off are pure waste.
Couriers bill on chargeable weight, which is whichever is higher: the actual weight on the scale or the volumetric weight worked out from the box size. So a feather-light item in a big carton pays for the carton. This is the single most common reason Meesho sellers overpay on shipping.
Multiply length, width and height in centimetres, then divide by the courier divisor. Most Indian couriers use 5000, a few use 4000. A 30 by 25 by 8 cm box is 6,000 cubic cm, which at divisor 4000 bills as 1.5 kg even if the item inside weighs 420 grams.
Sabse pehle box chhota karo. Zyaadatar seller ek hi bada carton sab cheezon ke liye use karte hain, aur halka saaman bhi bhaari slab mein chala jaata hai. Doosra, slab ki seema pe nazar rakho: cut-off se thoda bhi upar gaye toh poore agle slab ka paisa lagta hai.
Rates step up in 250 gram bands rather than rising smoothly. A 505 gram parcel costs exactly the same as a 750 gram one. So the grams just past a cut-off are pure waste, and shaving a few of them can drop the whole order into a cheaper band.
No. Some tools sell this as a trick. Even where a quoted rate shifts, the parcel has not become lighter or smaller, so the difference gets reconciled later. Promotional badges on catalog images also breach marketplace image guidelines and can get listings pulled. Cutting real box size lowers cost permanently and carries no account risk.
They are Meesho’s published national slab ladder, and rates do change. Open the rate card in the tool and paste your own figures from your supplier panel. The calculation is the valuable part, not the numbers we start with.
Yes. The same parcel costs noticeably less within your own city than it does across India. Where buyers live is not in your control, but it is why two identical orders can settle at different amounts.
